FLORENCE MARGARET SOLOMON March 25, 1913 - November 1, 2004 Surrounded by love, peace and tranquility, my beautiful Mom fell to sleep as I was holding her and talking to her at the Grace General Hospital the evening of November 1. My Mother will be forever loved and remembered by those closest to her; her daughters, Patricia Ann and Donna; grandsons, Daniel (Julie) great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael, David (Allison) great-grandchildren, Cory and Jordan, Elliott (Debra) great-grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew; daughter-in-law Catherine Darbell and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. My Mother was predeceased by her beloved husband, Danny; her beloved son-in-law James Sheppard with whom she had such a loving relationship (they not only adored one another, but were great friends) her grandsons, Douglas Solomon and Darrell Hiebert. My mother was born in Bladsworth, SK, to newly arrived English immigrants, Alice and Hubert Greenway (Stratford-on-Avon). At the age of 18 months she was adopted by my beloved grandparents, the very prominent Catherine and Joseph Lowes of Moosomin, SK. My grandparents idolized my mother and she lived a very happy and pampered life. It was at the age of 12 years that my Dad first laid eyes upon my Mom and he told my Grandma that this was the girl that he would marry and that he would be back for her. He did and they married on August 28, 1929. Unfortunately my Father passed away in 1958 and my Mother remained a widow. My Mother and I spent the last four years of her life together in my home where I cared for her surrounded and loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She knew how much I loved her and we shared much laughter and so many beautiful memories. I have not only lost my Mother, but my best friend. She never stopped worrying about me and her last words to me were that I was to take care of myself and rest. Just one of her many attributes was that she was able to forgive - and even though I have been told I am a clone of my Mother that is one attribute I did not inherit. I loved you then, I love you now and I will forever love you my beloved Moma. You were a beautiful and gracious lady and remained so to the end. I would like to thank the very dedicated Dr. Joshua, I cannot thank you enough for the respect and kindness you extended to my Mom; Brenda Janz, nurses, Audrey, Thelma, and Chris and many others of the Grace Hospital, Margaret Friesen who gave her a bath - all so kind and caring to my Mother. There will be no service and my Mother will be cremated and laid to rest with her beloved Danny at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Proverbs say "of a woman of valour" that "her children rise up, and call her blessed - "Such was my Mother, and grandmother...she "excellest them all."
