Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY LOUISE KERTAI (nee ASTLE) On November 2, 2004, Louise passed away at St. Boniface Hospital after a lengthy illness. She leaves to mourn her devoted husband George; daughter Cheryl Heming of Winnipeg; sister Noel Anderson of San Angelo, TX and brother Robert Astle and wife Judy of Deloraine. Also nieces and nephews, Kim Vick and her husband Dennis and Tanis Rutherford and families of San Angelo, TX, Sean Anderson of San Francisco, CA, Bill Astle and wife Darlene of Deloraine, Laurie Link and husband Ken of Carberry, Heather Thomas and her husband Gary of Calgary and their families. Also cousins, Catherine Dagg and husband Fred of Winnipeg and Margaret Dunbar of Carman, Mary Harris of Ottawa; sisters-in-law, Margaret Szedo of Winnipeg and Kornelia Gellert of Toronto; plus many great nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her parents, William A. and Anne Belle Astle (nee Harris) a brother William Harris Astle and his wife Marjorie Astle. Louise was born March 22, 1931 in Deloraine, MB. She attended Brandon College and the University of Manitoba receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was also a certified social worker for the City of Winnipeg and the Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Manitoba. She was an accomplished pianist participating for several years in the Manitoba Music Festival. Louise had a life-long interest in antiques and was an avid reader. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Burial will be in the Deloraine Cemetery next to her parents.
