JOSEPH KONRAD LASSON
Date of Passing: Nov 02, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH KONRAD LASSON In loving memory of Joseph Konrad Lasson who passed away on November 2, 2004. This day was the 36th wedding anniversary of Joe and his wife Marsha. Joe left to be with the lord with his two sons, Rob and Bryan holding his hands and his wife beside him at his home in Langruth, Manitoba. Joe fought a courageous battle with cancer after being diagnosed in June of 2004. Joe was born in Winnipeg on December 4, 1942. He grew up and attended school in the Langruth area. Once finished his school he worked on Lake Winnipeg with Fisheries, in a mine in Ontario and at the Aggasiz Correctional Centre. He then continued his education in the field of carpentry at the Assiniboine Community College in Brandon. Joe married his wife Marsha on November 2, 1968. After living in Brandon and working with Powell Construction for several years, Joe, Marsha and their newborn son Rob moved back to Langruth, where he started to farm. Shortly after, Joes other son, Bryan, was born. Joe and his family continued to reside in Langruth and farmed in the area. Joe has had many battles with medical illnesses through out his life. Once diagnosed with cancer, Joe underwent two rounds of radiation therapy. Through out this treatment, Joe continued to maintain a positive attitude and remained strong for his family right up until his passing. The cancer was first diagnosed in the brain. Further testing showed that the cancer had originated in the esophagus. There was little doctors were able to do by the time this was diagnosed. Joe was a family oriented man who enjoyed spending time with his wife and two sons. Joe had no desire to go on far trips and holidays, he enjoyed accommodating his boys to go fishing and hunting. He felt his yard was the most beautiful place in the world and needed not to go anywhere else. There was always a welcome feeling at the Lasson home for family and friends. Joe cherished his beautiful yard and home which he enjoyed caring for. He took pride in the cattle he raised and loved his pet dogs and cats. Joe had a talent for woodworking and mechanics. He leaves behind numerous hand-made crafts that are in many homes in the community. Joe was very proud of his two sons who both became members of the RCMP. He enjoyed visiting them at their postings, learning about their careers and meeting their co-workers and friends. Joe leaves behind his wife, Marsha, his sons, Rob and Bryan, his mother Fina, his brothers, Ed (Helga), and Frank, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. A special thanks from the Lasson family goes out to Ed and Gloria Ross of Portage, Sheila Olson, and Leonard and Heather Arksey of Langruth. These people aided in the care of Joe throughout this difficult time. Thanks to the staff of CancerCare MB. and the HSC Neurological Centre. A funeral service will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church in Langruth at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November.
