Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRETA L. (BUMPS) STEWART On Sunday, October 31, 2004 Greta (Bumps) Stewart passed away at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg after a battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. Born in 1925 she grew up in Winnipeg where she earned her nickname "Bumps" for the many bruises and scraps she got as a youngster. She met her husband Jim in 1943 and resided in Winnipeg until 1966, when Jim found a new job at Brandon University. She was active golfer, bowler, swimming instructor, clog dancer, aerobics instructor and organizer of just about anything. She found time for cottage life at Minnedosa for many years where she enjoyed the golfing, swimming and friendly family discussions held around the kitchen table. Seldom found at home she and Molly could be found on their way to Belmont for another gambling run or on the links with Norma. Prairie Oasis was a favourite haunt in her later years for Bingo, serving meals, bean bag, dancing, doing seeds and aerobics. Her life was always full of things to do. She is survived by sisters, Cybil Dyck of Winnipeg, Evelyn Moore of Prince George and was predeceased by sister Snooks of Vancouver and husband Jim. Children are Bob of Neepawa, George of Brandon, Miriam Roger of Ste. Anne, Peter of Burnaby and Rae Derzack of Beamsville. The grandchildren (12) and great-grandchildren are too many for this small space. A party to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
