RUTH LILLIAN KOMPELIEN Ruth Lillian Kompelien (nee Dickson), aged 57 passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 30, 2004, after battling lung cancer for the past year. Ruth will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 37 years, Ramsay; and three daughters, Jill, Kelly and Carolyn. She will also be lovingly remembered and missed by sisters, Joan Dickson, Linda (Rich) Sewell; brothers, George and Ken Dickson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful friends. Predeceased by her parents, George and Ruth Dickson. Ruth was born October 25, 1947, in Winnipeg, MB where she grew up and married husband Ramsay. The couple moved to British Columbia in 1972 and raised their family in Port Moody. Ruth will be remembered for her quiet strength, endless generosity and quick wit. She was the best mother anyone could hope to have and her wisdom, kindness and gentle spirit will remain with her daughters forever. She spent her last years working in the insurance industry where she formed many cherished friendships. A special thanks to Lombard Canada Ltd. for their incredible support over the past year. Also thanks to Dr. Klimo and the nurses at the Lions Gate Chemotherapy Clinic, Dr. Starko and Dr. Monk for their care. A funeral service to honour her life will be held on Friday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Services, 602 Kingsway, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to the British Columbia Kidney Foundation or the Chemotherapy Clinic at Lions Gate Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
