STEFAN SUKICH November 21, 1921 - November 3, 2004 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Stefan Sukich on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the age of 82 years. This day will hold a special memory in our hearts as November 3 was also the 58th wedding anniversary for Stefan and his wife Anna. Stefan passed away peacefully surrounded by all of his immediate family including each and every grandchild and great-grandchild at his side. Stefan leaves to mourn his loving wife Anna; his children, Mary (Matt), Joseph (Karen), Stephen (Caroll), Hilda (Marty) his grandchildren, Matthew (Barbara), Michelle (Mark), Warren, Amanda, Kelsey, Jackie (Blair), Randy (Lora), Daryl, Alyssa, Myranda, Syrena, Joshua, Rybecca; his great-grandchildren, Landin and Madison; also surviving is sister Ana of Slovenia; sister-in-law Veronika of British Columbia; Uncle Joe (Maria) of Chicago; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his parents, Jozef and Judita; sister Marija; and brother Joe. Stefan was born in the village of Martinje, Slovenia and served in the Second World War. Stefan and his family came to Canada in 1958. He worked as a custodian for the Winnipeg School Division in his latter years. Stefan was a loving husband, father, doting grandfather and great-grandfather and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He made friends wherever he went and was always trying to get a smile out of people. Stefan was a strong and proud man, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Being a devout Catholic, his faith carried him through difficult times. The family would like to express their thanks to his Home Care workers and also the staff at Oakview PCH and Fred Douglas Lodge for all the care provided and in making his final days as comfortable as possible. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 95 MacDonald Ave. with Rev. Fr. Stan Gacek as celebrant. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew Sobocan, Warren Sukich, Daryl Irvine, Randy Irvine, Mark Tetzlaff and Albert Casar. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Sobocan, Marty Terry and Joshua Terry. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Stefans memory to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
