Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ROSE EVANGELINE AINSLIE Rose Ainslie (Dawson) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2004, after suffering with Alzheimers disease for 14 years. Mom (Rose) had been a resident at Charleswood Care Centre since 1997. Prior to that, she had lived for several years in Kiltarton Towers. She was predeceased by her siblings, Hazel, John, Clair, and Christine (Hinds), and her husband Alexander Ramsay Ainslie, who passed away in 1994. Rose (Mom) is survived by her son Robert, his wife Elaine Ainslie, their children, Laura-Lynn (Stephen Richard), Shannon (Lon Labrash) and Jennifer (Mark St. Laurent). Rose is also survived by brothers-in-law, Walter Hinds, Matthew Ainslie and his wife Joan, and Jim Ainslie and his wife Ruth. Rose had two great-grandchildren, Melissa Richard and Matthew Richard. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Brandon on August 31, 1916 and grew up in Brandon, MB. After attending school in Brandon, she went on to become a registered nurse, attending nursing schools in both Brandon and Portage la Prairie. While in Portage la Prairie, she met her future husband Ramsay. They married and moved to Winnipeg. Rose spent many years nursing in Winnipeg, first at the original Grace General Hospital on Arlington Street where she became Evening Supervisor of the hospital, and later worked at the new Grace Hospital, where she ended her career as the Health nurse. She was respected for her knowledge, dedication and proficiency in the nursing profession. Her nursing career involved both full time and part time work at Grace Hospital. Rose and Ramsay lived most of their married life on Belvidere Street in St. James and spent their summer holidays and summer weekends at cottages at Falcon Lake, Lake of the Woods, and Victoria Beach. Cremation has already taken place, and a private family interment will take place at a later date. Anyone so wishing may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society in her memory. The family would like to thank Charleswood Care staff for their care and kindness.
