ABOIM LOURENCO MEDEIROS It is with deep heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear father and grandfather on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre. Aboim will be sadly missed by his son Louis (Adriana) and daughters, Maria Donatilde (Wilfred) Makus and Nelia (Joe) Reis; five grandchildren, Kayla, Justin, Jennifer, Meagan and Christopher. Also left to mourn are his sisters, Maria Leonor Carvalho and Emilia Da Conceicao Travassos. He was predeceased by his parents, Mariano Pedro de Medeiros and Emilia so Carmo de Medeiros; and also by his brother Mariano Jose de Medeiros. Aboim was born on November 20, 1928 in San Miguel, Acores, Portugal. In 1958 Aboim moved to Winnipeg. His wife Maria Jose joined him shortly after and they started their new life in Canada. Aboim had zest for life, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and many dear friends from the Portuguese community. He lived his life to the fullest and will be dearly missed. Prayers will be said on Sunday, November 7, at 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Ave. with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., V.F. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven, Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors and nurses in SICU at Health Sciences Centre for all their care and support.
