JOHN CHRISTIAN BLAIKIE In sadness we announce the passing of John Christian Blaikie, on November 5, 2004 at Beacon Hill Lodge, our husband, dear friend, grandfather and great-grandfather. John was born September 21, 1917 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1920. John will be sadly missed by his wife Annette, her daughter, three sons and their spouses, Jackie and Roy, Jim and Jill, Jason and Jan, John and Joyce, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Eric in Victoria, BC. John led a very interesting life and loved to share stories about it with his family. He was always a perfect gentleman and was affectionately known as "Grandpa John". John was a veteran of the Second World War. His humour and sharp wit will be missed at the many family gatherings he so enjoyed. The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for the excellent care they provided to John. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 3 St. Vital Rd. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice.
