JOHN OBERTON Peacefully, John at the age of 80 years young, passed away November 7, 2004 at the Grace Hospital. He was born in Fraserwood, MB on March 22, 1924. He will be sadly missed by his wife Nellie of 50 years; children, Cameron, Calvin, Debbie Dry (Wes), David, Bruce, Brian (Milena) and seven precious grandchildren. John is survived by sisters, Jean Jawalik, Helen Obach, Nettie Marchuk and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brother Walter (2002), parents Nick and Lena. John was a teacher for 40 years and retired in the year 1986. John was active in the Seniors Club, especially playing pool. He enjoyed helping his children, watching hockey and travelling south for the winter. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg, MB. Burial will be at Transcona Cemetery on Dugald Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Johns memory to the Cancer Society.
