Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAILEEN (MILLER) PIPER 1915 - 2004 Always loving; Always loved Aileen Piper peacefully left us, after a short illness, on Friday, November 5, 2004, at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, with her daughters at her side. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Susan McKay of Winnipeg and Wendy Russell (Murray) of Ottawa; as well as many relatives and friends. Aileen was predeceased by her husband Ted, in 1994. Raised in Toronto and a graduate of Victoria College, Aileen moved to Montreal in the early 1940s, where she married and raised her daughters. She returned to Toronto in 1969, where she remained until moving to The Wellington in Winnipeg in 1996. For a number of years prior to her retirement she held a position with the Government of Ontario in the Land Compensation Board. Always an active volunteer in her community, she donated her time to the Consumers Association of Canada, Victoria College of the University of Toronto, the University Womens Club in Toronto and the churches she attended throughout her life, as well as to a variety of other organizations. A family graveside interment service will be held in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3. Aileen cherished the many four-legged companions she shared her life with over the years. Warm thank yous are extended to Dr. Martin, the nursing staff on the Fifth Floor and Chaplain Captain Faye Shiel.
