MARIA DACONCEICAO ROSA Peacefully on November 5, 2004, Maria, our beloved mother, grandmother passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 82 years. Maria is survived her children, Gilda (Jose), Antonio (Gorette), Joao (Conceicao), Jose (Juvenalia), all of Winnipeg, Lidia (Alfred) of Mississauga, ON, Oliver (Laura) and Maria Alice (David) of Portugal; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Olivia (Leonard) of Toronto, Alice (Joao) of Brazil, Cecilia (Joao) and brother Antonio (Maria) of Portugal. She was predeceased by her husband beloved Antonio and brothers, Joao and Miguel. Maria was born on January 15, 1922 in the Acores and came to Canada in 1971. She was a proud homemaker and devout catholic. The family would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for all their care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, November 9 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros as celebrant. Interment will take place in Toronto. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Marias memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
