DOUGLAS GLEN ZELMER September 18, 1928- November 8, 2004 Peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2004, at the St. Boniface General Hospital, with his family by his side, Glen passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. What for us is a "Blessed Hope," for Glen is a "Blessed Reality." Glen is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Muriel; daughters, Patti (Jim) Evans, Robin (Ron) Hampton and Glenna. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel) Evans, Heidi (Dave) Clark, Jordan Evans, Melissa (Chris) Park, Meagan Hampton, Glen Hampton and his great-grandson Owen. Also one brother Norman (Gwen) and sister-in-law Marlene Zelmer. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Dennis. Glen was born in Winnipeg on September 18, 1928. He lived here all his life with the exception of one year (May 1960 to June 1961) when he and Muriel resided in Brandon. Glen worked a few years in the printing industry and then in June 1962 became a salesman for Hillier Paper, which later became Inter City Paper Co. He retired from that company in 1989. Glen was a long time, active member of Grace Chapel where he was an elder for many years, until ill health forced his retirement. He also spent many years working at Faith Bible Camp, on the Board of Directors and as a Counselor, Camp Director, Camp Manager, preacher and where ever he was needed. He loved working with young people and had a good relationship with them. Glen had a quick wit and a great sense of humour when we all enjoyed. We will remember Glen for many reasons, but above all for his faithfulness. He was faithful to his Lord, and Saviour, Jesus Christ, to his church and his family. He will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Chapel, 19 Berrydale St., St. Vital, with interment to follow in the family plot in St. Vital Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour before the service at Grace Chapel. If friends so desire, contributions to Faith Bible Camp Memorial Fund, P.O. 42059, RPO Ferry Road, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3X7, would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the service. For I know that my redeemer lives, And He shall stand at the last on the earth. And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh, I shall see God. Job 19:25 - 26 Arrangements are by: Ronald Moffit Memorial Services (204) 856-3487
