Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD VICTOR (ROBBIE) ROBERTS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robbie, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the age of 85 years at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. Robbie will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving and devoted wife, Jeannie, of 38 years; his children, Dr. Donald John (Kathy), Gordon (Georgina), Barbara (Jesse), Douglas (Florence) grandchildren, Sarah, Jeremy, Lora and Ian; very dear cousin Mary Gray Jennings and husband Charles of Florida. Robbie was born on October 8, 1919 in Toronto, ON to Daisy Lavinia of England and William Carroll Roberts of Troy, New York. He was educated in Toronto and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the war. Robbies long and varied professional career began in Toronto at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and continued to Brown and Rutherford, Silpit Industries, London Life, Winnipeg Supply and Guarantee Trust Company in Winnipeg. Robbie moved to Edmonton to hold the position of Vice-President of North West Trust Co. for 20 years. During this time his many business associates became dear friends from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Robbie was a member of many clubs and associations, including the Edmonton Petroleum Club. Robbies favourite pastimes included reading, everything to do with aviation, the outdoors, travelling and sports. Robbie will always be proud of the time he spent playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1943 to 1945. Robbie was a very friendly, kind-hearted, out-going man, and loving, devoted husband. I love you so much, I will miss you... Your memory will last in my heart forever my dearest Robbie. Love always, your Jeannie. Friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Robbies life on Saturday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private family interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
