JUDITH ILEEN HILL March 10, 1943 - November 8, 2004 Peacefully on Monday, November 8, surrounded by her family, Judith Hill passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Grace Hospice. She was predeceased by her daughter Leigh in 1997. Judith is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Daryl; children, Cheryl (Mark) Wold, Keri (Jason) Bennett; grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew and Ethan; brother Don (Heather) McLaren; sisters, Joan McLaren and Pat (Doug) Bassett; also many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Judith was born in Dauphin, MB and moved to Winnipeg as a young woman, where she met and married Daryl and started a family. Later Judy worked for the Department of Education. After retiring, she volunteered at the Womens Pavilion with their pre and postnatal classes. She had many interests, including travel and her winter home in Mesa, Arizona, quilting with the "Dubliners Quilters", keeping fit, and of course her dog Oliver. Judy was generous and kind, always putting her family first. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospice who provided great loving support and care to Judy and her family. Service will be held on Friday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with reception to follow. Rev. Ian Shaw officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5 or CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
