KUNNIGUNDA (GUNDA) SCHIFKE 1932 - 2004 Peacefully on November 12, 2004 at the age of 71 years, Gunda passed away at the Concordia Hospital with family at her side. Remaining to cherish her loving memory is her husband of 52 years Karl; sons, Norbert (Correen), Hermann (Judy), Gerhard (Kim) daughter Elisabeth (Gary) son-in-law Barry; grandchildren, Cheryl (Dennis), Karl, Billy, Bret, Ryan, Shauna (Emil), Jennifer; and four great-grandchildren. Mom was born December 30, 1932 in Munchhernsdorf Germany to Elisabeth and Jakob Friedrich. She met, fell in love and married Karl in 1952 and in 1958 immigrated to Canada to start a new life with her family. She spent her years in Winnipeg where she worked as a seamstress until her retirement. Mom will always be remembered for her famous cheese cake, Sunday dinners and the ability to sew whatever, whenever the need arose. Her family was her life and we thank her for her unconditional love. Mom was predeceased by her youngest daughter Hannelore, her brother Herman and mother and father. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion given to our mother. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17 at the Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery.
