MARIAN CLAPA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marian Clapa, husband of the late Maria Clapa, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at the age of 84. Left to mourn are daughters, Irene Pidstawka (Robert) of Arborg; Wanda Van Ryckeghem (Dan) of Winnipeg; Stanley Clapa (Patricia) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Darlene Sutyla (Rene) Andrea Reeks (Paul) Zachary Clapa; great-grandchildren, Thomas Pidstawka, Todd Sutyla and Evan Reeks. Marian was born in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland, on November 2, 1920. After the war Marian married Maria. While in Belgium he worked as a coal miner for several years before immigrating to Canada in 1954. Marian started his career as a car man for the Canadian Pacific Railway, Weston Shops where he was well respected. He retired September 1, 1985. Marian was a jack-of-all-trades and almost a master of some. He enjoyed fishing in many lakes, but in his later years he mainly fished at Nutimik Lake in the Whiteshell area. Marian, his late wife Maria and their granddaughters enjoyed picking berries, mushrooms and fishing. Marian was a very devoted and concerned husband and father. He cared for his wife, who had Alzheimers for many years and for the well being of his children and their families. We would like to thank the exemplary staff at the Grace Hospital for their care. Viewing will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16 prior to the funeral at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel on 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in the Polish National Cemetery. Everyone in attendance is considered an Honorary Pallbearer. Tho Lost of Sight, to Memory Dear. We Love You Dad. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
