LAURA ANGELE DONALD (nee DeCOCK) THERE IS NOTHING SO PRECIOUS AS A MOTHER. Our dearly loved Mother, grandma and great-grandma left us peacefully in her sleep on the evening of November 13, 2004 at River East Personal Care Home. Always the eternal optimist, Mom doted on Dad and us, and after his passing, she became her own person. She will be remembered most of all for her joie de vivre, her free spirit, her patience and limitless energy which was an inspiration to us all. Mom travelled extensively with Dad throughout Canada, the United States, Scotland and Europe and she visited Brian when he lived in Singapore and Australia. Mum was a good friend to all who knew her and will always be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by daughter Barbara (Howie) Benderski of Saskatoon, grandchildren, Jason and Sheri (Ray) Donegan; daughter Todd (Tom) Larsen, grandchildren, Garth and Brad (Nancy) Downer, great-grandchildren, Drake and Nicholas, all of Victoria; son Brian (Lucinda) Donald of Seattle, grandson Scott (Carol) and great-grandchildren, Bradley and Kinsey of Winnipeg, grandson Greg (Heather) and great-granddaughter Lauren of Massachusetts, and grandchildren, Nikki and Troy of Seattle; daughter Rennie Bodi and granddaughter Tamara of Winnipeg; and her sister-in-law Grace DeCock and niece Darla (Bill) Steinke and family, Cory, Kim and Kristi. Although we will miss her dearly, she leaves us to join Dad after being without him for 22 years. Mom is now reunited with her parents, Henri and Helena DeCock and her brother, Fernie. The family thankfully acknowledges all the staff of "Courage Bay" at River East Personal Care Home for their tender loving care of "Cookie". As a cancer survivor, Mom supported CancerCare Manitoba and in her love of animals, The Winnipeg Humane Society. We hope you will join the family in a celebration of Mothers life and help us say goodbye this Friday, November 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway. We are grateful to our family friend, The Rev. Dr. Paul Campbell who will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be her family, Howard Benderski, Tibor Bodi, Bill Steinke, Ray Donegan, Jason Benderski and Scott Donald. Mom will be laid to rest with Dad in Elmwood Cemetery. It is strength to love the sunrise - and to mourn the sunset. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. 668-3151
