STEPHANIE KOLENDA (nee SHALAY) Peacefully on November 12, 2004, Stephanie Kolenda passed away at Concordia Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband William, father Onofrey and mother Katherine Shalay, brother John Shalay, sister Anne and husband Emil Walterson and brother-in-law Michael Podolski. Left to mourn her passing is her daughter Alice and husband Don Capri; daughter Gail and husband Vic Calladine; sister Mary Podolski; grandchildren, Troy (Valerie) Capri, Cheryl (Ken) Karas of Calgary, Lorraine (Dave) Jacobson, Darren Schmidt of Calgary, Derek Capri; six great-grandchildren; nieces, Heather (Gerry) Prescott, Eleanor (Wayne) Norburn of British Columbia. Her family and grandchildren meant the world to her. Holidays and Sunday dinners were special times at Grandmas house. Mom loved to crochet and she made afghans for family, friends and neighbours. Mom was employed at Continental Can and at Wilsons Auto Electric where she made many friends and lasting friendships. We would like to express our thanks to the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. We would also like to thank nurses Linda, Amy, Dr. Regehr, and all the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their comforting and personal care extended to mom. Many heartfelt thanks to all moms neighbours for their generous help over the years. Cremation has taken place and as per her wishes there will be no funeral services.
