HENRY DARCY LANKTREE (1921 - 2004) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of DArcy Lanktree, on Sunday, November 14, 2004, in the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 82 years. DArcy will be lovingly remembered and missed by wife Verna; sons, Sean and Steven; as well as by relatives and friends across Canada. DArcy was born in McCreary, MB in 1921. As a young boy, he moved with his parents to Winnipeg and attended school there. Enlisting in the military in 1942, his career included service during the Korean War and U.N. peacekeeping duties in IndoChina and the Belgian Congo, which earned him medals and awards for distinguished service. He achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer before his retirement in 1977. DArcy married Verna in 1954 in Winnipeg, and made Ottawa, Oakville, Kingston and Vancouver their home, before finally settling down back in Winnipeg in 1976. DArcy was an intelligent and accomplished man, with a fondness for trivia. He enjoyed skeet and target shooting and spending time on the computer. Cremation has taken place and a service in celebration of DArcys life will take place on Friday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson "In the Park", Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if donations were made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. Rest in peace. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGILLIVRAY BLVD. 925-1120
