Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED WALLACE Mildred Christie Wallace passed away at the Tuxedo Villa on Thursday, November 11, 2004. She was born in 1907 in Winnipeg, MB to Harry and Mary Eleanor Wallace. Mildred was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth in 2001 and Howard who died of the result of an accident at age six years. She is survived by two nephews, Ralph from Calgary and Robert from Vancouver. Mildred became a teacher at the age of 17 years. She spent her first eight years teaching in the Antelope Saskatchewan District, starting in Stone Cliff, Grain Belt and Kemmel Hill schools. In 1933, she moved back to Winnipeg and served as a resource teacher for the next 40 years, travelling from school to school. There was nothing Mildred liked better than to talk about the hard times and the good times of the "Little Red School House". Graveside committal 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17 at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. with Rev. Gordon Taylor officiating.
