EDWARD DAVIES Peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2004 following a brief but valiant battle with cancer, Ed Davies passed away at the age of 57 years. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Portage la Prairie with a reception to follow at the Army Navy and Air Force Veteran Hall, Portage la Prairie. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg. Ed was born in Winnipeg on March 13, 1947, the son of Stephen and Rosaline Davies. His childhood was spent in and around Winnipeg, but as soon as he could travel, he headed North and West. He settled for a number of years in British Columbia, working at a variety of jobs. After a brief marriage, he returned to Manitoba and has called Portage la Prairie home for a number of years. Ed was able to make friends easily and will be remembered as an avid fisherman and good cook. He leaves to mourn his passing, his brother Michael (Linda) Davies; sister Pauline (James) McKay of Portage la Prairie, niece Tracy (Paul) Lampert; nephews, Richard McKay and Christopher Davies; four great-nieces and great-nephews and many, many friends. The family wishes to send special thanks to Linda and Betty and Floyd for their special support, and also the wonderful nursing staff of the Portage General Hospital. If friends so desire, contributions to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8, would be appreciated. Arrangements are by: Ronald Moffit Memorial Services 856-3487
