GEORGE VERBONG George Verbong, passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 56 years with his wife Judith and friend Janet at his side, November 15, 2004. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 35 years Judith; son Jay-son; daughter-in-law Cheryl; brothers, Peter (Gloria) and John (family) sisters, Gerda, Mary (Jake) and Elizabeth; brother-in-law Jed and sister-in-law Beatrice and their family; and many other nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly. George is predeceased by his mother Gerarda, father William and brother Gerald (Alice). George was born May 9, 1948 in Holland and at the age of 4 he came to Canada. He fought a courageous battle with cancer after being diagnosed in the summer of 2003. George worked for Maple Leaf for over 36 years and became supervisor of the pork department. He also loved golfing with his son and his friend Dennis. He loved life and lived life to its fullest everyday. Thank you to Riverview Health Centres nurses in wing 3E for their passionate care. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Friday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler. In lieu of flowers George asked for a tree to be planted in his honour. "When I think of you I feel warm inside as I remember the long talks weve had, the places weve been and the memories weve made by just being together."
