HORST WILLI DURHACK 1927 - 2004 Horst Willi Durhack, aged 77, peacefully passed from this earth on November 16, 2004 after a brief illness at the Concordia Hospital. Horst will be sadly missed by his wife Friedlinde of 56 years; daughter Emmy (George) sons, Alfred (Sonja) and Horst Jr. (Debra) along with Dads eight grandchildren and great-grandchild. He will also be missed by his brothers, Klaus (Renate), Alfred (Betty), all of their children, and all the friends he has made throughout the world. Born in Koslin Germany, Dad married Mom in 1948, and after working as an Orthotic Prosthesis maker, moved to Canada in 1958 with his family and brother to start a better life. Dad worked as a Stonemason for the majority of his life, giving him the opportunity to work with his hands and enjoy the outdoors that he so loved. He has travelled to Thailand and South America, where he worked in Uruguay for years quarrying stone to be sold throughout the world. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service on December 3 at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. If desired donations may be made to the Manitoba Diabetes Association.
