LENA ROGOWSKI With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Lena Rogowski, aged 87 years, on November 17, 2004 at the Betel Nursing Home in Gimli. Lena is survived by her daughter-in-law Rose; grandson Douglas and his wife Tammie-Lee; granddaughter Nancy; great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Michael. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1995; her son Michael in 1978; her two infant sons; and all her brothers and sisters. Lena was born in Meleb on September 21, 1917. She married Fred on November 20, 1937, and together they farmed in the Park District for 45 years. In April 1990, they moved to Gimli and resided at the New Harbor Lodge until May of 1994, when they moved to Betel Home. Baba had a kind heart and great love for her family. She enjoyed the hard work of her farm and garden. She could name every NHL player and wrestler, as she was a great sports fan. Baba looked forward to the weekends when her family would join them at their farm, to share work, good meals, and lots of love and laughter. For the last 15 years, Baba had slowly slipped away from us as a result of Alzheimers Disease. Baba, we have missed you for awhile now, and although it hurts to finally say, "Goodbye", we will always remember you for your love, generosity, and kind smile. We wish you Gods peace until we meet again. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel. Rev. Deacon Walter Knysh officiating. Reception to follow at the chapel. Interment at Park Cemetery, Meleb. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the Betel Home Foundation in Gimli for their compassion, care, and kindness.
