Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) ORTON CALDER (nee BRAGG) 1925 - 2004 With sorrow, the family wishes to announce the sudden death of Peggy at St. Boniface Hospital on November 17, 2004. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Charles and May Bragg; her husband Glen; her sisters, Marjorie and Carrie; and her brothers-in-law, Edward MacDonald, Robert Garson, Robert Nickel, Ross Calder; and sister-in-law Ethel Calder. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Tony), Allan (Edith), Murray (Carol), and Russell; her sisters, Helen Bragg and Beth Nickel; and brother Gordon (Marion) also sisters-in-law, Verna Earl, Jessie Thomson; Jean and Archie Weiss; and brother-in-law Keith Calder. She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Peggy was born in Winnipeg on January 19, 1925. In 1947, she married Glen Calder, and moved into her new home on the Calder family farm. In 1991, she moved into Letellier, where she lived until her death. Peggy lived a busy, active life. She taught in the Marais School for two years, and then taught at Brooklands School and Argyle School in Winnipeg. After her children were all in school, she taught in St. Jean, and Letellier for 22 years. She loved to travel and made trips to Great Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China and Greece, plus coast-to-coast in Canada, and Las Vegas. She loved to curl, and was a lifetime member of the Marais-Letellier Community Club. She was a member of the Dominion City United Church, and had been an active member of the Marais-Letellier United Church till it closed in 1968. Her favourite pastimes were needlepointing, reading, gardening, writing letters and hobnobbing with her friends. She also liked to gamble. Peggy always had time for her family, whom she loved dearly, and was always happy when her friends and neighbours dropped in for a visit or a meal. Thanks to the Altona Hospital staff, Dr. Bueddefeld, Letellier Home Care staff and St. Boniface Hospital SICU staff. Memorial service to be held on Saturday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dominion City United Church, with Rev. Bev Ward officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be held at the Emerson Cemetery immediately prior to the memorial service. Flowers gratefully declined in favour of donation to Dominion City United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, or charity of your choice.
