RAFFELINA MARY VICTORIA (COLTON) DEMERY (nee PUCCI) It is with love and sadness the family announces the passing of Raffelina Demery, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away at the Victoria Hospital on November 18, 2004. Raffelina was predeceased by her husband John Bernard in 1972; her parents, father Salvatore in 1961 and mother Beatrice in 1995. Raffelina leaves to mourn her husband Stephen; her son Ron (Susan), two granddaughters, Miranda and Haley of California and her daughter Cathie (Randy). She is also survived by one brother Frank (Midge) of Texas and one sister Rosemary (Tony) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friend Mae. Raffelina was born February 27, 1930 in Winnipeg where she was raised and received her education at Mulvey and St. Marys Academy. During her years growing up she helped work at her parents restaurant, Queens Cafe, on Sherbrook and Wolseley where she had many fond memories of those days with her family, cousins and friends. She meet her husband Bernie (Corporal, R.C.A.F.) there and they were married in 1953. They moved to Calgary in 1955 and started to raise a family until their return to Winnipeg in 1964. Following Bernies passing in 1972, Raffelina returned to work outside the home where she was employed at Birks Jewellers as the Manager of the Repair Department until her retirement in 1992. Remarrying in 1992 she and Steve enjoyed life by travelling and visiting family and friends. Her interests were bingo, Summerland Seniors coffee group, Red Hat Society and collecting angels. Her greatest joy in life was her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with Fr. Gary Killen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Kelly, Greg and Deano; niece Carla and niece Natasha and her husband Lorenzo.
