PETRO WTORAK Peacefully, but suddenly, on Monday, November 15, 2004 with his son by his side, Petro Wtorak, aged 91 years of Winnipeg. Petro was born June 14, 1913 in W. Ukraine. In 1944, he married Maria Zolynski and they had three children. He came to Canada in 1965, residing in Winnipeg, where his wife and children joined him in 1972. Petro was employed with J.M. Schneider and retired in 1978. Petro was a member of the Ukrainian Canadian Legion, Branch 141, KYK, UNF - Winnipeg Branch, the Taras Shevchenko Foundation and many other Ukrainian organizations. He was a very helpful man and always gave generously. For over 30 years, he purchased many items (dry goods, clothing, etc.) and sent them to needy recipients in Ukraine. Petro is survived by his sons, Roman (Grazyna), Stanley; son-in-law Bernard Kulczycky; precious grandchildren, Colleen, Kate, Peter, Victor and Roman. He was predeceased by his wife Maria and daughter Bronislawa. Prayers will be sung 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 22 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Special thanks to Wachniak Auctions for their support to Peter where he enjoyed many good times. Also, to his dear friend Fred for driving Peter all these years.
