KATHLEEN "KAY" CALCOTT Peacefully, on November 18, 2004, at Concordia Place Care Centre, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Kathleen "Kay" Calcott, passed away with her dear friend, Bev White, at her bedside. Kay leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her daughter Bonnie (Jack) Stafford; son Allan Calcott; her beloved grandchildren, Nadeen (Rolly) and Jarod; also her great-grandsons, Riley and Kendell. Mom was predeceased by her husband George Davis Calcott in December 1979. During her lifetime, mom had devoted herself to the loving, care-giving of her elderly parents, her own family, as well as her extended family, which included the children of her many neighbours and friends. Mom was also a volunteer with the Princess Elizabeth Guild for many years, which also included her time as President of the Guild. A true homemaker, mom enjoyed her gardening, baking, reading, as well as her sewing and knitting which was associated with her Guild work. Mom enjoyed her independent lifestyle until the age of 84 years, all the while driving her "baby", her tangerine orange 72 Chevy Nova Fastback, often the envy of many a young male driver. Our family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the team of the 4th Floor, Concordia Place Care Centre, for the excellent care and compassion extended to our mother. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre in Moms memory. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Interment to follow beside her husband at the Transcona Cemetery.
