JOSEPH DZYDZ Peacefully on November 19, 2004 our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Joe passed away at Gimli Community Health Centre. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years Mary; his daughter Debbie Dangerfield and son-in-law Jim; his grandchildren, Jackie (Adnan), Katie (Gavin), Stacey, Colin, Ermiyas and Taz; his sister Lena Malecki; and brother Walter; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillian Marks, Betty Keller, Josephine Karsin, Jane (Joe) Falvo, Donald (Marie) Keller, Art (Vivian) Keller, Margaret (David) Chwan, Jack Keller and Betty (Henry) Jonasson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Annastasia Dzydz; his parents-in-law, Martin and Lena Keller and Martins second wife Mary; his sister Helen and brother Michael; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Sigurdson, Boys Marks, Michael and Florence Gottfried and Ed Kellar and Eds first wife Leda. Joe was born on November 3, 1917 in Arnes, MB and on November 6, 1943 he married his dear wife Mary. They lived most of their married life in Arnes. Joe formed a partnership with Steve Sigurdson and for many years they ran a trucking company and fishing station on Lake Winnipeg. Joe was a commercial fisherman for 52 years and it brought him great joy to be in his boat hauling nets and watching the sunrise. Joe loved doing carpentry, spending time with his family and friends, feeding and watching his birds, but especially tending his garden with Mary by his side. When friends and family came to visit, often Joe and Mary could be found sitting by the garden in their favourite lawnchairs. He served on many community organizations; the St. Benedict Parish Council, Arnes North School Board, Arnes Credit Union and Stefanson Memorial Park to name a few. Joe was a very loving man and was a special gift from God to us. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Gimli, MB with Fr. Ernest Kamath officiating. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. S.V. Patel and the nursing staff at Gimli Community Health Centre for their excellent care; to Sister Cathy and Deacon Ray for their spiritual guidance and support during this difficult time and to the many relatives and friends who comforted Joe and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joes memory to a charity of your choice. "Fly free much loved husband, dad and grandpa." Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
