MARY KROCHMAL On November 16, 2004, Mary Krochmal passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 98 years. Mary was predeceased by her husband Dan; her parents, Alexander and Ann; her sisters, Julia (Walter) and Frania (Dolko) of the Ukraine; her brother Alexander (Ann) and sister Michalena (Walter) of Winnipeg. Her daughter May Hrynchak of Winnipeg predeceased her in 2003. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Olynyk of Somerset and Mays children, Claudia (Sherise) and Kathy (Frank) and their children, Angela and Nicole of Toronto. She will also be remembered by her nieces, Ann, Jean and Nellie and their families. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Fred Douglas Lodge, especially on the Willow Wing. Mary was born in Tlustanke in the Ukraine and came to Winnipeg at age 18. She worked in the garment industry until her retirement. She loved art, cooking, dancing, embroidering, entertaining, gardening, music and especially singing. She was a member of the Workers Benevolent Association and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. At Marys request, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
