Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE SCAMMELL Alice passed away peacefully on November 17, 2004 at Saskatoons Sherbrooke Community Centre surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on August 11, 1919 in Winnipeg. She spent most of her life in Minnedosa, Manitoba - a town that she loved. After raising her two sons as a single mother, she remarried and gained a large, loving extended family. Alice was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a talented artist. Always a giving woman, she eagerly volunteered her time and friendship to others in the church and community. After a serious stroke in 1997, Alice moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She lived with her family for several years before moving into Sherbrooke Community Centre. Alice was a strong and compassionate woman who loved to laugh. She had a deep faith in God which guided her throughout her life. Alice embraced all who encountered her with her warm and cheerful heart. She was - and will forever be - an inspiration to those who love her. Alice is predeceased by her first husband Sigurd Lee, her second husband Ernest Scammell, her brother Harry Sampson and her step-son Bob Scammell. She is survived by her son Robert Lee (Sharon) of Stouffville, Ontario; her son Phillip Lee (Megan) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; her granddaughter Jennifer Lee of Calgary, Alberta; her sister-in-law Mabeth Sampson of Kaleden, British Columbia; her step-daughter Pat McQueen (Barry) of Stonewall, Manitoba and her family; her step-daughter-in-law Brenda Scammell of Devon, Alberta and her family; and many other devoted family members and friends. A funeral service will be held in the Minnedosa United Church on Saturday November 20 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
