Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER WACH Peacefully, with family by his side, Peter Wach passed away at Health Sciences Centre on Friday, November 19, 2004. Peter was predeceased by his parents, George and Ahaphia (Buck) son George; sisters, Mary and Elsie; brother Harry; in-laws, John and Katherine Mysyk. He is survived by wife Anne; children, Cathy (Ken Dueck), John (Gail), Nadine Faykes (Paul Moore), Helene Wach (Bruce Maynard) grandchildren, Ian, Taras, Larysa, Natalia and Olana; his sisters, Anastasia (John Kozoriz), Kay and Ann; in-laws, Olia and Walter Rohatyn, Wally and Mary Mysyk, Kathryn Wach, Uncle Jim Cordupel and Aunt Katie Wach; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews across Canada, USA and Australia. Peter was born in Winnipeg on June 23, 1920. He received his education in East Kildonan. After returning from overseas (The Second World War), he attended the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Agriculture. He was employed by the Winnipeg Tribune as a reporter for the ethnic community and then went on to become an insurance salesman with Mutual Life of Canada. Peter enjoyed being actively involved in the community. He was a longtime member of Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Other activities included Ukrainian Canadian Legion Branch 141; Ukrainian Canadian Committee (Congress) Mens Club YMCA, North Winnipeg Branch and Rossmere Golf and Country Club. Panakhyda/Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe Avene at Watt Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, also at the Church with Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating, assisted by Fr. Andrew Wach and Deacon Victor Humniski. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be John Kozoriz, Jim Cordupel, Walter Mysyk, Walter Rohatyn, Michael Myssyk and John Mysyk. Pallbearers will be Ian Dueck, Taras Wach, Andrew Sirski, Russell Kozoriz, Paul Haswell and Jeff Dueck. Ukrainian Canadian Legion, Branch 141 Colour Party will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peters memory to the Shevchenko Foundation, 456 Main St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 9Z9 or Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre, 184 Alexander Ave. E., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0L9.
