SAM T. MAH It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Sam Mah, peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital on Friday, November 19, 2004, surrounded by his family at his side. Predeceased by Shue Ngor Wong. Sam is survived by his wife Rose Mah; children, Evelyn Wong (Art), Lonnie Whipple (Dan), Peter Mah (Cheri) and Paul Mah (Carol) grandchildren, Lena Fong, Henry Wong, Harry Wong (Ruby Wong), Cathy Young (Kevin), Mark Whipple, Jeff Mah (Allison), Kimberly Mah, Jennifer Mercer (Tony), Robert Mah (Laura) and Susan Mah; great-grandchildren, Charlene Fong, Brandon Fong, Christopher Wong, Matthew Wong, Jett Young, Teagan Mah, Lauren Mercer and Alex Mercer. Sam was a successful restaurant entrepreneur until his retirement. He devoted his time to family and a wide circle of friends and the Chinese community. He enjoyed simple pleasures of life, and was strong willed and very independent to the very end. Sam participated in the Chinese Theatre Group in his younger years, and in later years loved Chinese music and opera. He supported and was a member of many community organizations, most notably the Winnipeg Dramatic Society, Winnipeg Chinese Cultural and Community Centre and Sek On Toi Seniors Housing Association. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 22, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 23, at 11:30 a.m. also in the chapel. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Our dad was loved by all and will be sorrowfully missed by friends and family.
