Born: Nov 01, 1915
Date of Passing: Nov 21, 2004
Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) DAGLISH (nee TUCKER) November 1, 1915 - November 21, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Peggy Daglish, widow of Dr. George Heaton Daglish. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her daughters, Elizabeth and Patricia; son-in-law Gregory Janusz; grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas and relatives and friends near and far. Peggy was born in Plymouth, England in 1915. She served a distinguished career as a victualler in the civil service during the Second World War where she met her husband-to-be George. In Plymouth, Mom discovered her love for the dramatic arts as an actress with the Tamaratins. In 1954, Peggy emigrated to begin a new life in Canada as a doctors wife in the remote outport of Hermitage, NF. Then to Nova Scotia for 11 years where she was heavily involved in her community through her active role as a Brownie/Girl Guide/Ranger Leader, her role in the establishment of ballet and ballroom dance lessons and her participation in the fine arts. In 1966 the family settled in Manitoba and she continued her involvement in the community through her volunteer work with the Womens Committee of the RWB "Things Shop". Mom has especially enjoyed the times spent with her fellow members of the "Birthday Girls" club. Mom, there are no words that will adequately express our gratitude for teaching us the importance and value of family through your love and laughter, strength and support, warmth and comfort. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tomy, the staff at Victoria General Hospital and the Manitoba Home Care Program, all of whom gave loving care to ensure she was comfortable during her final days. A special thanks to Tara, Tess, Brynell and Candy. Memorial service will be held Friday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations in Peggys memory may be made to the Parkinsons Society of Manitoba, 302-171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4, or a charity of choice.
