ARTHUR FREDERICK KITNEY "KIT" Peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2004, Kit, aged 85, passed away at the Park Manor Personal Care Home. Kit will be survived by son Rick (Nicki) daughter Penny (Ernie) Friesen; grandchildren, Ken, Karen, Sheri and their mother Darlene, Audra-Beth (Corey), Trevor (Joanne) great-grandchildren, Sarah, Zachary, Warren, Rebecca and Micah; sister Joyce Fear; many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Audrey, one brother and two sisters. Kit was born in Fort William, ON on October 30, 1919 and raised in Dauphin. He served as a Flight Sergeant in the Air Force during the Second World War. Following the war, Kit joined the staff of the Winnipeg Tribune where he worked in various editorial positions. He is and will be remembered for his outdoor columns in the Winnipeg Tribune. Kit was a founding member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada. The family would like to thank the staff of Park Manor who provided wonderful care to Kit during his time there. A private memorial reception will take place on Tuesday, November 30 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Kit may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
