MARC MONFORTON, OMI It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother Marc, at the age of 72, on November 20, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer and heart problems, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Predeceased by parents, Romeo (1954) and Lily (Ryan) (1984) brothers, Nelson (1990), Leo (1997) sister-in-law Estelle (1996) brothers-in-law, Joe Grady (1991) and Paul Langlois (1999) and nephew Chris (1989). Fr. Marc is survived by brothers, Lloyd (Luce), Orval (Mignonne), Roy (Florence) and Jim (Doris), all of Riviere-aux-Canards; sisters, Mary Jane Grady of Kinnebank, MB, Marguerite Reeb of Sarnia, ON, Cecilia and Leona Langlois; as well as sister-in-law Carmel of Riviere-aux Canards. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins, in particular cousin Larry Monforton and wife Joan of Stonewall, MB. Many friends will grieve his passing (as will his co-pastors, especially Fr. J.P. Isabelle, OMI). Fr. Marc was ordained as a priest in the Order of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, at St. Josephs Church, Riviere-aux-Canards in 1959 by Bishop Nelligan. His ministry as an Oblate took him to many postings in Northern Ontario and Manitoba, ending with St. Patricks Church in Winnipeg. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at St. Patricks Church, 168 Worth St. at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Patricks Church on Wednesday, November 24 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
