CHARLES VALENTONIS It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlie Valentonis on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at home with his family by his side at the age of 76 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Charlie will be loved, missed and remembered by his soul mate and wife of 52 years, June; daughters, Teena (Bob) of Cobourg, ON, Barb of Lac du Bonnet; son Keith (Kim) of Winnipeg and Lee (Kim) of Lac du Bonnet. Also, he will be remembered by his special granddaughter Sommer (Billy) and her children Sydney and Ridley. Grandpa will always be missed by grandchildren, Jamie, Leesa, Cole, Craig, Cody, Kendra, Kyle, and Tyson as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Charlie was born in Winnipeg on November 3, 1928. He wed his love June on October 23, 1952 and purchased his childhood home in Lee River in 1966. Charlie worked numerous jobs but settled at Abitibi for 33 years, retiring in 1989. Being at camp and trapping was Charlies passion. He was a great outdoors man. Charlie had a great spark for life and kept us all laughing to the end. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation can be made to your favourite charity. What a true blessing you were to us.
