Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENTON CRAIG JOHNSON It is with heavy hearts, the family announces the tragic passing of Kenton Craig Johnson, aged 17 years on Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Riverton. Kenton was born at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on December 9, 1986. He leaves to mourn his untimely passing his mother Janie (nee Furgala) stepfather Al; brother Trent; sister Amy; grandfather Roy (Pat) Johnson; stepgrandparents, Asgier and Alice Magnusson; uncles and aunts, Eileen (Dave) Shott, Keith (Maureen) Johnson, Kirk Johnson, Margie (Conrad) Comeau, Wayne (Ruth Ann) Furgala, Peggy (Donald) Vigfusson, Jeannette (James) Nickols, Trish Furgala, Michael (Agnes) Furgala, Jackie Furgala, Norman (Loralee) Furgala, Roger (Pam) Furgala, Audrey (Al) Coates, Lornie (Kim) Furgala, Virginia (Robert) Whiteway, Amanda (Keith) Johannesson; extended family, Aunts Debbie, Carrie and Melanie Johnson; Uncle David (Judy) Johnson, Uncle Carl Johnson, Auntie Debbie (Jeff) Brown, Auntie Diane (Kurt) Ritcey and numerous cousins, friends and relatives. Kenton was predeceased by his father, Craig Johnson, grandmother Ruth Johnson, Baba Rose Furgala, grandfather Kazimier Furgala, Uncle Jamie Johnson. Kenton graduated from Riverton Collegiate in June 2004. Since his graduation he was employed by Phoenix Lumber, Arnes, working with his stepfather, Al. His future plans were to take carpentry and woodworking at Red River College in January 2005. Kenton had a kind, soft hearted and generous personality. He seemed shy at times but always had a smile. At a young age he was a pillar of strength for his mother when his Dad passed away. As he got older, he helped her with the house and yard work, caretaking at the Riverton Credit Union and most recently helped to look after his little sister Amy, while his mom worked. Kenton was a true outdoors person. He enjoyed his fishing and trapping outings with his Dad and uncles, especially Uncle Keith Johnson, and would call Grandpa Roy when he needed help with the animals he trapped. He loved to go hunting geese and ducks, as well as deer, with his stepdad Al, uncles, cousins and friends. He was very excited when he got his first deer at the age of 12. He loved spending time at his Uncle Donalds farm, and had recently helped Kevin haul all the wood for the winter. He spent a lot of time on camping trips and would always be eager to go with Uncle James and Auntie Jeannette when his parents couldnt go. He enjoyed many hours roaming with his brother Trent on their ATV in the summer and their skidoo in the winter. They would always join up with their friends and always have a place to go for adventure. His pal, Dylan Palsson was always around and they would always find something to do to occupy their time. Kenton played hockey from age five to nine and then became a very avid curler. He became a truly skilled and very competitive curler in the Riverton Mens Curling Club and curling bonspiels and had won many trophies and prizes. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton Hall with Pastor Trudy Thorarinson and Pastor Neil Von Gunton officiating. A private family burial will follow at the Riverton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darcy Sigurdson, Dylan Palsson, Teag Furgala, Mitchell Furgala, K.evin Vigfusson, Jason Nickols. Honorary pallbearers are Trent Johnson, Valdimar Johnson, Lindsey Furgala, Terrance Zagozewski, Quinton Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverton Curling Club Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
