DANIEL EDWARD BARRETT-CRAMER 1963 - 2004 Daniel died suddenly on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at age 41 from severe complications from diabetes. He was a kind and gentle soul, loyal and trustworthy and he created lifelong friendships. He was a good listener, was depended upon as a shoulder to cry on, and was a practical philosopher. He always had an opinion, but was wise enough to couch it in delicate and sensitive terms. Daniel loved music and movies and was an avid sports fan. He participated in sports throughout his life in a variety of activities, including bowling, cycling, swimming and running the Manitoba Marathon. His encyclopaedic knowledge of politics, the American presidencies, and the entertainment industry was amazing. He graduated from Library Science in Vancouver and worked at the Vancouver Sun newspaper and View Points Research until he moved back to Winnipeg in 2002. He was a great comfort to his Dad, Raymond Barrett-Cramer, who died last November and whose death affected Daniel deeply. Daniels life was much too short and he suffered many challenges, but was always ready with a cheery hello and wisecrack. His sense of humour and good nature were pervasive. He loved his dog Shadow and his twin nieces who recently turned one year old. He died too young and will forever be alive in our hearts and deeply missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Caroline Cramer; sister Elaine (David) brother Stephen; his true friend and confidante, Ray; grandmother Sarah Brotman; nieces, Hanna and Aviva; nephew Travis; aunt Edythe; aunt Brenlee (Nate) aunt Bonnie (Bob) Brotman cousins; Cramer cousins; Rays daughters, Natasha, Karine and Jasmine and many longtime friends. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the Etz Chaim Synagogue (formerly Rosh Pina), 123 Matheson Ave., East. The service will be followed by interment at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, Main and Armstrong. A light lunch back at the synagogue on Matheson will follow.
