ALMA SINGLE (nee SCHWARK) On Sunday, November 21, 2004, at Concordia Hospital, Alma Single passed away at the age of 84. Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Allyson (Walter) Betker of Winnipeg and Patricia Single of Toronto; her two grandchildren, Matthew and Laura Betker; her sisters, Dorothy Gryte and Stephanie (Harold) Berntzen; in-laws, Edna Single, Agnes and Jack Mohr and Irene and Arnold Mauthe. Predeceased by her husband Robert; her parents, William and Martha Schwark; her sisters, Viola Schultz, Frieda Bohemier and Lorraine Livingston. She was born June 14, 1920. She lived in Morris and Winnipeg until marrying Robert Single on May 17, 1947. They moved to Waldersee where they ran the grocery store for many years. She loved playing the organ, sewing, baking and reading her many cookbooks. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., R3L 0K6, or Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, R3C 0S6.
