Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA STRONSKY Peacefully on November 23, 2004 Anna Stronsky (nee Kowalski) passed away at Holy Family. Anna was born in Zaliskow-Vola, Poland on December 10, 1920. She came to Canada with her husband in October of 1949 and settled in Winnipeg. Anna worked as a seamstress for Silpit Industries from 1950 to 1952. From 1952 to 1979 Anna worked very hard on the farm in Libau, MB. In October 1979 she retired with her husband and resettled in Winnipeg again. Anna was a self-taught woman who left her home at an early age due to the war. She was eager to teach herself how to speak, read and write English. Anna was a lady of many talents, she sewed, knitted and cross-stitched many beautiful pieces. She would sew her daughters matching dresses when they were little girls. Anna was also a wonderful storyteller. She always had a story to tell her children and grandchildren about her childhood and coming to Canada. Anna will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Michael; her daughters, Anne (Cas) Manitowich, Patricia (Barry) Kleit and her grandchildren, Michelle, Matt, Marc, Morgan, Jared and Brent. Anna was predeceased by her daughters, Daria and Oksana and her parents, Anna and Stanislow Kowalski. Panakhyda/prayers will be on Thursday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 26 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, Sinclair and Burrows. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. The family would like to express our sincerest thanks to the staff of the Saint Paul Ward at Holy Family for all the care and attention given to Anna. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Alzheimers Society. You were always there when we needed you, No task too great or small. With a loving heart and a willing hand, For us you did them all. Thank you for the years you gave us, And for the time we shared. We only pray when you left us, You knew how much we cared.
