Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORA EVELYNE BIRD (TRAVERS) SOUTH THUNDERBIRD WOMAN Peacefully with her family at her side, on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, Nora Evelyne Bird passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 80 years. Nora was born at Jackhead, MB on October 17, 1924 spending most of her life in Hollow Water. She enjoyed cooking for her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nora spent many hours knitting mitts and socks for her family. She enjoyed many crafts and liked to make moccasins. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her husband of 62 years, Donald; one son, Issac; two daughters, Caroline and Isla (Bob) two brothers, Archie and Wilson; one sister, Bella Cook; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nora was predeceased by her parents, Issac and Lucy; 10 sisters, four brothers, three sons and two daughters. A Sacred Fire was lit on Wednesday, November 24 at Donald Birds residence in Hollow Water, MB. Wake services will also be held at Donald Birds residence on Wednesday, November 24, Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hollow Water Anglican Church, Hollow Water, MB with Rev. Nancy and Richard Bruyere officiating. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tiana Bird, Dallas Bird, Jamie Traverse, Winona Widrick, Alva Brooks, Dora Moneyas, Mary Ann Scott, Josephine Young, Florence Black and Irene Flett. You raised me as your own, you were and are my mom. I've chErished my years I've had with you and I miss you so much. If I could give an hour just to hear your voice, feel your soft hands rub my hair or back and sing to me again I would, I love you and my family has grown a lot since you were called home. I took you for granted because I thought you would always be here, I'm sorry mom, you and pop are together now in the spirit world.
