He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 54 years, Christel. Left to mourn are their children, Gert, Ralf (Marilyn), Frank, Rainer (Dyanne) and Carla (Tim) Blaich; their grandchildren, Jann, Bonnie, Kailley, Neala, Julie, Eric and Colleen; and his sisters, AnneMarie (Werner), Brigette, Liesel (Reinhard) and sister-in-law AnneMarie. Emigrating from wartorn Germany with their first son in 1952, Kurt and Christel worked off their passage on a farm in Cartwright, MB. Then, on to Winnipeg where he took several more jobs before joining Winnipeg Transit and adding two more boys and one girl to the clan. After more than 30 years with Transit, Kurt and Christel retired to their cottage at Victoria Beach. Many thanks to the first responders of the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, as well as Drs. R. Kroeker, Ahmed, V. Taraska, and J. Drexler.
