DARCY GILLES SABOURIN Born November 11, 1974 It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved and courageous Darcy. Darcy will be lovingly remembered by his soulmate and wife of just shy of one year, Celeste, and by his best friend, Harley. He will also be dearly missed by his mother, Marie-Ange Sabourin of St. Pierre-Jolys; his father, Raymond Sabourin of St. Jean-Baptiste; his sister, Tanya and her son, Richard of St. Pierre-Jolys; his twin brother, Daryl and his younger brother, Jean-Luc, both residing in Alberta; a special friend, Len of Morris; his parents-in-law, Alfred and Anne Phaneuf; his sister-in-law, Melissa and her husband-to-be, Eric Ahi; his brother-in-law, Francois all of Winnipeg, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Darcy lived the first eleven years of his childhood in St. Jean-Baptiste. He then moved to St. Pierre-Jolys where he completed his grade 9. The remainder of his high school years was spent at College Mathieu in Gravelbourg, SK where both he and his twin brother, Daryl graduated. While at the College, they made many friends who to this day remain as family. Darcy was diagnosed with Dilated Cardio-myopathy three years ago. He faced his health challenge head-on always with a positive and courageous attitude. Darcy used to say "Im the man", always ready to help in spite of his hidden pain. Darcy was continuously surrounded by his friends and family. These were the important things in his life. He was generous, positive, fun-loving, patient, a strong believer, a joker, honest, caring, a good listener, knowledgeable, charismatic, and most of all, a friend. "You were my one true love Darcy. Love, Cel." Viewing will be held at the St. Boniface Cathedral, ave. de la Cathedrale in St. Boniface on Thursday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m. Father Edouard Bonin will celebrate the funeral mass at 7:30 p.m. The service will terminate at the church.
