FLORENCE A. JANSEN (nee HUBERT) October 7, 1919 - November 27, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Jansen, at the age of 85 years, at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. She was born on October 7, 1919 in Rostern, SK to parents John and Emma Hubert and was raised in Ashern, MB. She was predeceased by her parents; husband William Jansen; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Henry Wurster; two brothers, Herbert and Lorance Hubert; and nephew Ronald Wurster. Surviving are sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hubert and Violet Hubert; many nieces, nephews and friends. Florence (affectionately known as Auntie Flo) was to be sorely tried from her teenage years and throughout her whole life with arthritis and other ailments which caused much pain and suffering. However, she was a woman with a wonderful outlook on life, a deep religious belief and an indomitable spirit to overcome her physical shortcomings. She loved her family dearly and had many good friends. She appreciated so much, the care and help she received at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg where she resided for the most of the last two years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Betelstadur Housing co-op, 1061 Sargent Ave., Winnipeg, MB with a gathering for refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
