SARAH SINCLAIR January 15, 1902 - November 27, 2004 Peacefully on November 27, 2004 at the Fisher River Personal Care Home, our dear mother, Sarah Sinclair passed away at the age of 102 years. Mom is survived by her children, Hazel Bowers of Vancouver, BC, Clifford Sinclair of Winnipeg, Herman Sinclair of Fisher River, Doreen Roche of Sudbury, ON, Harold Sinclair of Vancouver; grandchildren she raised, Che-Che, Johnny and Crystal; sister-in-law Edith Thickfoot; sister Mrs. Levi Mallett; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, too numerous to count; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and extended family. Mom was predeceased by her husband Hector; daughters, Margaret Spence, Annie Leveque and Alice Sinclair; sons, Paratrooper John Sinclair and Donald Sinclair; sons-in-law, Willy Roche and Joe Bowers; daughter-in-law Mary Sinclair; as well as many other relatives. Mom was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army Church in Winnipeg. She loved travelling, doing home made preserves and cooking. Mom made bannock until she was 98 years old. She was a seamstress and enjoyed knitting socks, mitts, scarves and many other things. Mom was a devoted Christian for many years. She prayed for the elders at the Personal Care Home, as well as her family and community members. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a generous heart. Mom spoke Cree and had a nickname for everyone. Mom was a caring and compassionate person who had a deep love for all her family and friends. She will be forever loved and missed by all. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Ochekwi-Sipi Personal Care Home for their care and compassion in making our mom as comfortable as possible in her final weeks and days, also Joe Garson and Alex Sinclair for their prayers and support and for staying by moms side until the end, to the Fisher River Chief and Council and community members for their support. Wake service will be held on Tuesday, November 30 at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. with a feast to follow. Both services will be held at the Stevens Memorial United Church, Fisher River, MB with Rev. John Halcrow and Pastor Lawrence Murdock officiating.
