Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA LESACK It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norma Lesack at Grace Hospital on Sunday, November 28, 2004, at the age of 74 years. Mourning her loss are Bill, her loving husband of 53 years; her daughters, Cheryl Saathof (Edward), Janet Zurcher (James), Cynthia Lesack; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn a brother, Tom Hasted, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, William Hasted, and her mother, Myrtle Hasted. Norma was born in Winnipeg on April 22, 1930. She spent her early years in Giroux, MB until grade 8 when she moved to Winnipeg. Except for a short time living in Saskatchewan, the rest of her life was spent in Winnipeg. She loved Florida and spent many happy hours at Walt Disney World with her beloved Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters. She also has many friends there. Norma was a dancer and acrobat and she and her husband performed with the Cheerio Troupe, a group of entertainers that performed for the armed forces during the latter part of, and after, the Second World War. Later, she and Bill joined with Alex Worster and performed as a three person balancing act knows as the "Hi-Lite Trio". Eventually, children came along and, as each got old enough, they joined Norma and Bill becoming a family act known as "The Lesacks" and performed novelty balancing and juggling. Norma worked for the City of Winnipeg for 23 years, starting in 1968 at the Pan Am Swimming Pool and moving to City Hall in 1971. She retired from the City on July 28, 1990. Norma enjoyed her retirement years and loved her home and her flowers. She was involved as a volunteer with the City of Winnipeg Retirees Association and made many friends there. Norma was always generous with her love and time to family and friends and will be sorely missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, with interment to follow in Clear Springs Cemetery near Steinbach, MB. Friends may make their own decisions regarding memorial tributes. THOMSON Funeral Home - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
