BERTHA CAMPBELL (nee HOFFMAN) It is with much regret that, on November 29, 2004 Bertha Campbell (Hoffman) passed away at the age of 79, with her family at her side. Bertha was predeceased by her husband Murdoch in 1998; by her brothers, Gustav, Art and Ted; sisters, Vic and Olga. She leaves behind her children, Ray and his wife Bonnie, Cheryl and her husband Lawrence, and Cindy; grandchildren, Alison (Kevin), Cameron and Derek; great-grandson Michael; twin sister Lana and sister Terry; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many great friends. Her greatest pleasure was her family for whom she loved to cook, bake, sew and knit. She always looked forward to family gatherings and celebrations with great anticipation. One of Berthas favourite pastimes was working in the garden, tending to her many plants, and in later years tending to the gardens of others. Bertha was born in Camper, MB and she and Murdoch spent their married lives in St. Vital. Both spent many years volunteering at Glenwood Community Club, playing Bridge with friends and card games with the family. She thoroughly enjoyed old time music and was often seen at local fiddling and jigging contests. Until recently Bertha was an avid bowler and participated in the seniors league at St. Vital Bowling Lanes. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9.
