Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON JAMES FRANKS Surrounded by the love of family, Gordon James Franks passed away peacefully on November 29, 2004 following a courageous three year struggle with lung cancer. Gordon was born in Rainy River, ON on April 2, 1918 to Basil and Edna Franks. He was a veteran of the Second World War. For many years he was employed at CNR in Transcona. Surviving him are his daughter and son-in-law, Elsie and Ed Bollenback; his grandchildren, Darla Sutherland, Krital Bortoluzzi, Mike (Christine) Bollenback; and five great-grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Doris Boyce of Winnipeg, Ruby Franks of Thessalon, ON; his many nieces and nephews, friends and special neighbours. Gordon loved all natures creatures. He enjoyed bird watching, especially the geese on their migration. He enjoyed gardening, his special trips to Texas, visits of family, friends and neighbours. A favourite summer activity was riding his scooter. His keen wit and sense of humour will be remembered and missed. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Home Care Service and Nursing Care which allowed Dad to remain in his home for the past year. These special people became more than care givers. Our thanks also to Dr. S. Koven, Dr. Mehta and the caring staff at Concordia Hospital, Keltie Phillip, you were our strength. If friends wish, donations in Gordons memory may be made to the Manitoba Division of the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550 Rest in peace Dad, I will treasure the memories.
